Strawberry Jam Junior: Open Mic

Ages: 12 & under
Registration: Required (Limited to 21 participants)

A chance for young performers to take the stage! Singing, dancing, magic—whatever their talent, this lighthearted open mic gives kids their moment in the spotlight. Held on the Main Stage, rain or shine.

Stouffville Bakes: Pie & Jam Competition

Registration: Required
Eligibility: Whitchurch-Stouffville residents; strawberries must be the main ingredient

Submit your best strawberry creations at Latcham Hall on Thursday evening. Entries are judged on taste, texture, and originality, with winners announced at Friday’s opening ceremonies.

Totally Toddler Show

Ages: 10 months to 5 years
Registration: Required

A fun and interactive celebration of personality and charm—this is not a beauty pageant. Every participant receives a gift bag, with prizes awarded in each category.

The Ultimate Spelling Bee

Ages: 6–9 and 10–13
Registration: Required (via Stouffville Library)

A lively spelling competition hosted in partnership with the Stouffville Library. Join us in the festival marquee for a fun and engaging challenge.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Ages: Grades 9–12 (Boys & Girls divisions)
Registration: Required (Residents only)

Compete in this annual youth tournament held over the weekend. All waivers must be completed prior to game day.

Family Activities & Crafts

Pet Contest

Registration: Not required

Bring your four-legged friends to Sangsters Grove on Sunday for a fun and lighthearted competition. Awards include “Best Kisser” and “Look-Alike.”
All pets must be leashed or in carriers.

Birdhouse Building & Kids’ Craft Station

Registration: Not required

Build a wooden birdhouse to take home, then decorate it or contribute to the Strawberry Festival community mural.

Picnic in the Park

Registration: Not required

Classic outdoor fun for all ages—featuring hula hoop contests, tug-of-war, three-legged races, and the Firefighters Run.

Food & Experiences

Sandy Stronach Red Berry Café

Registration: Not required

Enjoy tea served in fine china, strawberry desserts, or a frozen strawberry daiquiri. Proudly partnered with Metro.
Debit and credit accepted.

Photo Moments

Capture your festival memories at the Red Berry Café photo wall or find strawberry-themed photo spots throughout the park.

Strawberry Jam Jr. Open Stage

NOTE: We require your email address only for the purpose of sending you a response receipt and communicating with you with regards to this event. It will NOT be used for any other purposes.

Type of Performance / Talent

Please indicate what accompaniment you will be bringing (a musical instrument, an MP3, music on a flash drive, etc.). Each performer will be responsible for their own props.

Rules

1. All participants must be 12 years of age or younger.
2. This is an “Open Stage” therefore all levels of talent and all types of performing arts are welcome: Singers, musicians, dancers, magicians and comedians (telling family-friendly jokes).
3. All participants must provide any back-up music or musical instruments or props if required. (Note: prior notice of exactly what type of media the performer will be using will be required to ensure the technical availability).
4. Entries will be limited to 21 registrants. Successful registrants will be notified by phone or email within one week of the entry deadline.
5. Maximum performance is 5 minutes.
6. Registered participants must arrive30 minutes before scheduled appearance.
7. All performances will take place in the Marquee Tent.

The Gladys Clarkson Pie and Jam Contest

We’re so excited to have you participate in our Gladys Clarkson Stouffville Bakes contest this year, and can’t wait to see what you all create! Judging will be based on presentation, taste, and texture. Bonus points for originality. Top 3 entries in each category will receive a prize and community bragging rights! Awards will be announced at the opening ceremony. Please Review Contest Rules.

Rules

  1. Theme: All entries must feature strawberries as a main ingredient and fit the category of either strawberry pie or strawberry jam.
  2. Jam Entries:
    1. Must be presented in a standard 250ml glass jar
    2. Label the jar with a removable sticky note or piece of tape stating your name and Jam name
  3. Pie Entries:
    1. Must be a full, traditional-sized pie (8-10 inches).
    2. Label the bottom of your pie plate with your name and pie name.
  4. One entry per category, per person.
  5. Homemade ONLY: no store bought crusts, fillings, or jams.
  6. Ingredient List: All participants must submit a full ingredient list - NOT recipe, for dietary and allergy reasons.
  7. Drop off time: All entries must be delivered between 4-6pm on Thursday of festival weekend to 'The Sandy Stronach Red Berry Cafe' in Latcham Hall 8 Park Drive.
  8. Winners will be notified the Friday morning of the festival and will be presented their Awards at the Opening Ceremonies.
  9. All contestants must register either through the festival website in advance, or the registration form(s) can be filled out upon drop off.

Rules

1. Children must be born between ages 1 year - 5 years old.
2. Toddler must be a resident of Whitchurch-Stouffville with the postal code starting with one of the following: L0G (south of Davies Drive), L0H or L4A
3. All contestants MUST be registered by 2 weeks prior to the event. No exceptions.
4. All pre-registered contestants MUST sign in at the Latcham Hall in Memorial Park on Saturday during the festival between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. No pre-registered children will be allowed to sign in after 9:00 am. You may not register the day of the contest. At this point entrants will receive their category and number. Participation bags will be given out at the end of the show.
5. Each group will have 3 prizes, according to the set out categories for each group and the decisions of the judges. All prizes will be awarded after all participants have been judged.
6. Contest runs from 9:00 am to approximately 11:00 am. Contest ends after all judging is completed and prizes awarded. All contestants are asked to stay until the end of the show to receive their participation bags and awards.
