About the Festival
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival is a beloved summer tradition that has brought the community together for over 40 years. Held each year during the Canada Day weekend, this three-day celebration transforms Memorial Park into a vibrant gathering place filled with live music, local vendors, family activities, and seasonal experiences.
As a not-for-profit, volunteer-led event, the festival is built on a simple purpose: to create an inclusive, high-quality experience that celebrates local heritage, supports businesses and artisans, and brings people together.
What makes the festival truly special is the community behind it. From the Board of Directors to the many volunteers who contribute their time and energy, the event is shaped year-round by people who care deeply about Stouffville and the experience it creates for others.
In partnership with the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville—who lead performer bookings and sponsorship development—and with the support of our many sponsors, the festival continues to grow while staying true to its community roots.
What to Expect
Visitors can explore over 100 vendors, enjoy food trucks and carnival rides, and take in a full schedule of entertainment on the main stage. The festival also features a number of long-standing traditions, including:
- The Strawberry Social
- The Sandy Stronach Red Berry Café
- The Pancake Breakfast
- Community competitions and family events
With something for all ages—including artisan markets, youth activities, and Canada Day fireworks—the festival continues to be a highlight of the summer season.
A Long-Standing Tradition
Since its beginnings in 1984 as a Canada Day celebration and baseball tournament, the festival has grown into one of the largest events in York Region, welcoming more than 40,000 visitors each year. While it has evolved over time, its focus remains the same: creating a welcoming, community-driven experience that celebrates the spirit of summer.
Join the Celebration
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning as part of a long-standing tradition, the Strawberry Festival is a place to connect, celebrate, and enjoy everything that makes summer in Stouffville special.
Volunteer
Volunteers are at the heart of the Strawberry Festival. Whether you’re helping during the event or supporting behind the scenes, volunteering is a meaningful way to connect with the community and contribute to a shared experience enjoyed by thousands each year.
It’s also a great opportunity for students to gain experience, meet new people, and earn community hours.
Join the Committee
If you’re looking to play a larger role in shaping the festival, consider joining the Strawberry Festival Committee. Committee members work throughout the year to plan and organize key elements of the event—from programming and logistics to community partnerships.
It’s an opportunity to contribute your skills, collaborate with a dedicated team, and help guide the future of one of Stouffville’s most recognized community events.
